Thyroid Disorders

Dr. Allen did her doctoral thesis on thyroid disorders. For the her women's health and pediatrics internship she did another thesis on autoimmune thyroid problems. While Dr. Allen enjoys a varied family practice with patients seeing her for a variety of conditions, thyroid cases are the core of the work she does. She has attended extensive training and read lots of books and research papers and collaborated with many other practitioners in the goal of becoming an expert on thyroid conditions, especially in context of other hormonal function issues. With her previous background in social work, she is especially adept at dealing with cases where there is depression and/or anxiety.
